Eyelash Extensions

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions are comprised of individual, lightweight eyelashes that are shaped to replicate the natural lash. They are applied individually, one at a time, to each of your natural lashes to create a fuller and longer look that is semi-permanent. Eyelash extensions look and feel like your natural lashes without the hassle of applying makeup, just get up and go! The length and thickness of the eyelash extensions are determined by the health of your natural lashes as well as any style preference you have.

At Arch&Co we specialize in natural eyelash extensions that are great for special occasions, vacations and everyday wear.

How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Last?

A natural eyelash cycle lasts between 60-100 days with around 21 lashes per week being lost, the eyelash extensions will fall out with your natural eyelash during its growth cycle. Eyelash extensions can last anywhere between 2-6 weeks depending on how you take care of them (please see the 'Aftercare' section below). Each person is different and some lashes can last shorter or longer, depending on the person.

A 'fill' is generally needed in the 2-4 week range to keep the lashes looking full. Don't be alarmed if you notice your eyelash extensions shedding more than you would notice your natural lashes as the extensions are generally longer and darker than your natural lashes and it is just their time to go (*sobs*).

Will Eyelash Extensions Damage My Natural Lashes?

No! When applied correctly, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural eyelash. Your eyelash extensions will naturally fall out during the course of your eyelash growth cycle. No extensions will be applied to your new or baby lashes to promote growth. Your eyelash extensions have been customized to fit your natural lashes to prevent damage and have been applied by a certified technician. However, if you pull, pick, rub aggressively or cut your eyelash extensions, this can damage your natural lashes.

Is There Any Risk?

There is a small percentage of clients who may be allergic or are more sensitive to the adhesive used than others. The adhesive used for your eyelash extensions is medical grade with 80% less chemicals than the leading brand; it is formaldehyde and latex free. Please let us know before your appointment if you are allergic to any adhesives or have extra sensitive eyes, as we can do a patch test prior to your appointment. Please note that I am CPR and First Aid Certified in case of an emergency.

What Should I Do Prior To My Appointment?

Please be ready for your appointment by having clean, makeup free lashes (if you have applied mascara the same day, it can affect the adhesive and cause your lashes to shed the extension prematurely). Clean lashes will help create a good adhesive bond and help your extensions last longer. If you are wearing contacts, please remove them prior to your appointment. You will need to keep your lashes dry for 24 hours after your appointment, so you may want to wash your hair/shower prior to your appointment.

What Can I Expect During My Appointment?

We will discuss the style of lashes you would like as you get cozy and comfortable and anti-aging under eye pads and tape will be applied to protect your delicate eye area and lower lashes. Your lashes will be primed with our 100% natural pre-treatment solution and will now remain closed for the duration of your appointment. Your eyelash extensions will then be applied on a ratio of 1:1 with our medical grade adhesive. Actual lashing time can last up to 2 hours and many people fall asleep during this time. You should feel little to anything being done and there should never be any discomfort.  When the set is complete we will seal the adhesive with a 100% natural sealant and remove the under eye pads/tape and then you will be free to admire your new lashes!

Each set or fill will come complete with an eyelash brush and aftercare card.

Eyelash Extension Aftercare

Do Not Get Your Lashes Wet for 24 Hours After Your Appointment

This will allow the adhesive to bond and create a strong attachment. And avoid humid environments for the first 48-72 hours (baths, saunas, hot tubs, extremely hot showers). Always avoid direct shower spray as the adhesive is strong, but not that strong!

Brush Daily

Brush daily or as needed with the comb provided to prevent tangles and pre-mature shedding

Avoid Pulling, Picking, Rubbing Or Playing With

Do NOT pull or pick out your extensions, this can cause damage to your natural lashes! Try to avoid rubbing your eyes and playing with your extensions to prevent breakage. Let your eyelash extensions fall out on their own time, do not cut or pick them out.

Avoid Putting Oils On or Around Your Lash Line

And avoid waterproof, oil based mascara. Do not use eyelash curlers with your extensions. Liquid eyeliner is best if you would like an extra touch.

Cleanse Daily!

Gently wash your eyelash extensions daily with an oil free makeup remover to ensure there is no buildup of makeup, body oils and debris that can break down your extensions.

Enjoy!

Enjoy those precious minutes of time saved every day. #iwokeuplikethis
